Fjällräven Classic Sweden – Day -1: The Final Pack and Tomorrow’s Flight

So, it’s here. Tomorrow, I’m finally heading out! All my gear is prepped, and I’m just mentally running through whether I packed the backpack correctly. I’m incredibly stoked for the upcoming Fjällräven Classic Sweden trek. Tomorrow at 11:55 AM, I’m hopping on a plane towards Kiruna, and this whole big Nordic adventure will officially kick off.

What’s Riding on My Back, According to Lighterpack

I’ll be carrying most of my gear on my own back for the entire trek. I meticulously prepared a detailed packing list beforehand on Lighterpack. Thanks to this, I have an exact overview of every gram I’ll be hauling into the Swedish wilderness.

Packing the backpack required quite a bit of thought and trial-and-error. Nevertheless, I believe I haven’t forgotten anything crucial, and the gear won’t let me down on the trail.

The Transit Bag for Kiruna and Transport Bookings

Besides the main backpack, I had to prepare one more very important thing. A small portion of my gear and items not on the Lighterpack list will go into what’s called a transit bag. I’ll hand this bag over immediately upon arrival at the official registration in Kiruna. The organizers will then transport it to the final destination in Abisko, where it will patiently await me.

I packed mainly clean clothes, comfy stuff for the bus ride, and also a civilian outfit for exploring Stockholm afterward. This way, after finishing the demanding trek, I can immediately change into something dry and clean. On top of that, I bought my ticket today for the Sunday morning bus to Stockholm Airport, so my logistics are completely sorted.

Cold Weather for Fjällräven Classic Sweden and Anticipation for New Experiences

The weather forecast and reports from the organizer themselves are signaling rather cold and rainy conditions for this year’s event. However, I don’t want to dwell on it anymore or rack my brain over it. I’ll head north with a good mood and my waterproof gear ready.

It’s simply going to be a great event, and I intend to enjoy it to the fullest from the first kilometer to the last. In fact, I see it as a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable new experiences, don’t you think?

Tonight, I’ll treat myself to some well-deserved rest. Tomorrow at 11:55 AM, heading for Kiruna – let’s hit the trails and goodbye!

Do you also have your tried-and-true methods for packing for a long-distance trek? What items do you pack in your transit bags, and how do you usually handle pre-start jitters?
