Fjällräven Classic Sweden – Day 5: Camp Recovery, Great Food, and the Best Weather

Day five on the trail brought well-deserved rest and a chance to just… think. After a tough, rainy night, my Fjällräven Classic Sweden day 5 was all about recovery, ticking off a few small tasks, and soaking up the awesome atmosphere of the finish camp. Even though getting up wasn’t the easiest, the day ended up surprising me with the best weather of the entire week. Here’s a detailed rundown of how my day went after finishing the routes.

A Soggy Morning Wake-Up and Recharging at the Camp

It rained like crazy all night, which definitely didn’t boost my mood. The thought of having to pack everything up in that damp mess was exhausting. I was up before 5 AM, had to make a couple of midnight bathroom runs, and then just couldn’t get back to sleep. So, I read on my Kindle for a bit. I wondered if a better spot might open up nearby where I could move my tent, so everything wouldn’t be so dirty and wet.

Plus, I felt like I’d accumulated way too many bags and bits and pieces. When I was just carrying my backpack, I could coordinate everything so much easier. Now, it was suddenly a lot, and I wasn’t sure how to get it all sorted without tripping over something. By 8 AM, I’d already had breakfast and a call with the family. So, I headed to reception to warm up and charge my watch, power bank, and phone.

While charging, I thought about what was next and exactly how to tackle the packing. I’ve got time until tomorrow, after all. I watched people leaving and checking out. The question popped into my head: should I have stayed somewhere else along the way and only arrived today? But I quickly dismissed those thoughts. Everything turned out exactly as it should have. I wasn’t slacking, nor was I going too fast. It’s just hard to plan exact arrival times and departure buses in an unfamiliar place.

Afternoon Nap, a Great Lunch, and Stunning Scenery

Thanks to charging my electronics, I could head back to the tent and try to rearrange my stuff. But I kept needing something from every single bag. Feeling cold, I crawled back into my sleeping bag and literally crashed for two hours. I woke up just after 12:30 PM and immediately made lunch – dehydrated Pasta Bolognese. It was absolutely delicious!

I tidied up the tent and headed back to the Fjällräven finish camp. I soaked in the unique atmosphere and just created something for myself on the spot. And today, of all days, showed the most beautiful weather of the entire trek. I was treated to a gorgeous, truly gorgeous view of the sun-drenched surrounding hills, with clouds drifting above, while fierce rivers cascaded down the slopes in waterfalls.

Tent Tweaks, Evening Chill, and a Bedtime Wish

Around 5 PM, I bought some little gifts for my son and daughter and got to work tweaking the tent. I used the dry spell to get as much done as possible. I finally tied sliding knots onto the tent’s guy lines, and they’re holding! I also finished my book today. Bringing my Kindle on the trail was a genuinely fantastic idea.

At 8:20 PM, I went to reception again to get everything fully charged, sort out emails, and pay some invoices. I don’t even know where the day went. Then it was shower time, back to the tent, and into bed. I’ll read a bit more and see how I sleep. Goodnight, and see you tomorrow! Please, no rain tonight or tomorrow morning!
