A Restless Night in the Hut
What a night! The cold crept into the hut, which was perched on marshy ground. My quilt was poorly positioned on the sleeping pad, and I could feel a draft on my back constantly. Trying to get comfortable led to the hut swaying like a boat. Around 3:15 AM, an unknown visitor with a headlamp disturbed us, searching for something nearby. We stayed quiet until they left. Finally, I managed to secure the quilt better and find a comfortable position.
Morning Start and the Trail
We were up at 6 AM and hit the trail by 7.
We tried to take regular breaks, relax, and refuel with drinks and energy. A stop at Café Fichtl was a brilliant choice – the beer and cake were top-notch!
Crossing into Germany
We covered a total of 36 km today and ended up in Germany. Finding a suitable spot to sleep, however, required some effort.
Despite all the challenges, our first day on the trail was packed with experiences, and we’re looking forward to the next stages of Stezka Českem.
