Stezka Českem: Stage I, Day 3

Morning Mishaps and a Bakery Breakfast

The day started with a hiccup. Our plan to cook breakfast in the common room went south. Turns out, the old pub we found had zero cooking facilities. Luckily, we’d spotted a bakery the day before that was open. We grabbed some doughnuts, pastries, and I even got a coffee that, surprisingly, tasted pretty good.

The Climb and the Views

Fueled up, we hit the uphill grind.

Today’s route delivered some seriously good views and interesting spots. We traded climbs for descents, passing through villages, forests, and mountain meadows.

Pit Stop in Horní Blatná and the Trek to Blatenský Vrch

We restocked our supplies in Horní Blatná and pushed on, passing the Vlčí jámy (Wolf Pits).

Our target for the night was Blatenský vrch, where we planned to crash.

The Hunt for a Campsite

Unfortunately, the planned sleeping spot looked pretty rough. We tried backtracking towards Horní Blatná, then aimed for Boží Dar, but nothing was suitable. We ended up trudging all the way to Červená jáma, where we finally collapsed, utterly spent. That was enough for today.

Despite all the accommodation drama, day three was packed with great experiences and views. We’re already looking forward to what tomorrow brings on our Stezka Českem journey.
